Ashlar describes the finest masonry units of dressed and cut stones that are worked until squared, with pieces ranging in heights from 1/2″ to 12″ and lengths from 6″ up to 24″ for both full and thin veneer stone (rounded from tumbling). Grays to charcoals, with occasional mauves make up the largest percentage of its real stone color range with the remaining third consisting of browns, buffs, oranges, yellows, reds, rusts, purples, lavenders, mauves, blues, and creams; along with whites from tumbling. If you prefer the pre-tumbled version of this real stone product (with more defined edges that haven’t been rounded from tumbling), Chilton Custom Country Blend has the same range of natural stone veneer colors (with less whites from tumbling). Capable of thin joints between stones, the linear appearance of an ashlar pattern stone installation results in the most traditional natural stone masonry application.
