This project is unique because each row is coursed, or contains stones of the same height, giving it an overall linear look. In this case, the heights are 12″, 7 – 3/4″, and 5″. In addition, there are rockfaced heights which are made by hand-trimming the face of the stone using a hammer and chisel by skilled artisans. The 12″ and 5″ bands are 100% rockfaced, meaning every stone in the 12″ and 5″ heights are rockfaced. The 7 – 3/4″ band is not rockfaced, creating a slight but unique contrast to the rest of the rows.
