A finished building stone veneer and stacked stone or grout installation in the Ashlar stone veneer pattern of stone installation is sometimes referred to as a 2:1 pattern. The Castle Rock Line pattern of veneer stone installation consists of rough squares and rectangles that are split, not sawn. A finished mixed custom ashlar and castle stone veneer will result in a traditional ashlar pattern with a hint of a castlestone type of stylistic appearance for pieces with greater heights.
